District Attorney speaks out in support of quality early learning in Luzerne County

Hear what a local DA had to say

On October 21, 2010, District Attorney Carroll came to read to the Luzerne County’s Head Start PA Pre-K Counts classroom located in Dan Flood Elementary school, part of the Wilkes Barre Area School District.

She also released a news report by Fight Crime: Invest in Kids, which showed that high-quality pre-kindergarten programs are an important part of the solution to school violence and violent crime. The report documents that quality pre-k not only reduces problem behaviors among at-risk youth that lead to violent crime, but also saves millions of dollars in the state’s special education budget in the short term.
