Carissa is a Shining Star at Delightful Discoveries
We are nominating Carissa D. for this year's Shining Star Award.
Carissa has been enrolled in the Eastside Elementary's School Age Child Care (SACC) Program, Delightful Discoveries, for more than 5 years. Within this time, she has grown in so many ways. One of the most obvious growth has been in regards to her academic success.
Just two years ago, she was an average student receiving B and C grades. During this current school year, Carissa has been on the Honor Roll for the entire year! She is very excited to complete her homework daily.
Carissa has taken a leadership role, setting asider her own activities and homework, and willingly helps others finish their homework. Eastside SACC caregivers have helped her to develop and explore her creative side in their willingness and encouragement to have craft time almost daily. She has been able to take her skills and lessons learned and to adapt them to her other activities, which include Girl Scouts and cometitive cheearleading.
Carissa looks forward to seeing the activities planned from day to day and she has a difficult time going home at the end of the day because she can hardly wait to see what is planned for the next day!
Nominated by Jennifer D. (Carissa's mom) and Sandy Miller (Director of the School Age Child Care Program at Delightful Discoveries)
